It is a kind of sweet that is consumed in special occasions. Its name means a sweet that is originated in Oman. It has started since 1330 A.H and people have been making it until today.

The ingredients of Omani Halwa

The ingredients that are used to make this delicious Halwa are starch, grey sugar, but through the time it is replaced by white sugar and sometime palm dates or honey, rosewater that is produced in Jebel Akhdar in Oman. Also nuts, the quality of Halwa increased if there are a lot of types of nuts. Saffron, water, Cardamom and other ingredients depending on the people needs such as fruit syrup and common fig.



The price

As far as the price is concerned, it varies from 1 OMR to 50 OMR, especially when it is served in special and formal occasions with special guests.

As it was mentioned before, it is served in special occasions such as weddings, in rituals of marriage, when people receive guests and different occasions.
